News - NATO announces ‘importance’ of collaboration with Azerbaijan

The First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, on Tuesday met with the Deputy Chief of Staff Support of NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, Major General Stefan Fix, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. It was noted that the current state of Azerbaijan’s relations with NATO is at a high level, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan told APA, the latter reports. It was emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO will continue to be mutually beneficial and that effective meetings will continue. Valiyev particularly noted the significant contribution of the North Atlantic Alliance in the training of the Azerbaijani army units within the framework of NATO's Operational Capabilities Concept. Major General Fix, for his part, expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, and stressed the importance of further development of NATO’s relations with Azerbaijan.
