Relations between countries are determined not by some newspaper articles or statements by individuals, but by interstate agreements. This was announced by Armenian ambassador to Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan during a meeting with members of the Armenian community in Belgorod city, reports TASS. "We have set ourselves the goal of strengthening our ties, especially at the interregional level. We have held Armenia Days in such regions [in Russia] as Yaroslavl, Sverdlovsk, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Perm, and everywhere we have signed interregional agreements," Harutyunyan stressed. Later, speaking with reporters, he added that the Belgorod Region of Russia and one of the provinces of Armenia will sign an agreement on economic, cultural and scientific cooperation, and in the near future work will begin to find mutually beneficial points of contact. According to Harutyunyan, this visit took place in accordance with the 2022-2027 interregional cooperation plan signed between Armenia and Russia, and it includes the development of interregional trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural relations. “[Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov] and I agreed that we will start working through this agreement between Belgorod Region and one of the provinces of Armenia. We will prepare such an agreement, coordinate, and go for signing. This will enable us to deepen the relations between Belgorod Region and the corresponding province of Armenia. We []i.e. Armenia have relations with Belgorod Region, but they are at the level of businessmen. We want to simplify this," said the ambassador of Armenia to Russia.
