The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, has announced that the investigation into the "criminal cases" of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh has been concluded. The cases will be sent to the court in the near future, Aliyev said, APA reports. He said that the investigation of 15 people has already been completed "Currently, accused persons, lawyers and victims are currently familiarizing themselves with the criminal case materials. After the familiarization phase is over, the indictment will be sent to the court," Aliyev added. Recently, the Azerbaijani authorities extended for five months the detention of Nagorno-Karabakh former presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arayik Harutyunyan, former state minister Ruben Vardanyan, former foreign minister David Babayan, as well as parliament speaker Davit Ishkhanyan, former defense minister Levon Mnatsakanyan, and General Davit Manukyan. They were taken captive by Azerbaijan during the latter’s complete occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023.
