More than 15 policemen fell victims of militant attacks in Russia’s republic of Dagestan, the latter’s head, Sergey Melikov, said Sunday. "More than 15 policemen—protecting the peace and tranquility of Dagestan with their weapons in their hands—became victims of today's terrorism," Melikov said in a video posted on his Telegram account. He noted that several civilians were also killed as a result of terrorism. Among the dead civilians, the head of Dagestan mentioned Father Nikolay, who served in Derbent city’s Orthodox Church for more than 40 years. After a series of terrorist attacks in Dagestan, the situation is under the control of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, Melikov noted. He added that the families of the dead and wounded will receive financial aid.
