Peacekeepers' "Peace Shield 2024" military exercises have started in Moldova and will continue until June 28, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Moldova informed on its website. Simultaneously with these drills, training courses for evaluators will be held in the army, the purpose of which is to train servicemen to carry out the proper Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) evaluation procedure of the Army, the Moldovan MoD added, in particular. Representatives of 22 countries will take part in them. Certification of the OCC is a mandatory condition for the participation of the national army in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations, including KFOR in Kosovo and UNIFIL in Lebanon, added the Moldovan MoD.
