Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes as follows, in part: In the ruling [majority] Civil Contract [(CC)] Faction [of the National Assembly (NA)], there is a decision not to secure a quorum for the session launched by the opposition, with the agenda of resignation of the government and to fail the session. Thus, (...) yesterday, the opposition Armenia and With Honor Factions had taken the initiative to convene an extraordinary session [of the NA] on June 11 with the agenda of resignation of the government and forming a new government. At the NA Council meeting, however, the CC unanimously rejected the initiative to convene an extraordinary meeting today. By virtue of the law, the extraordinary session will be held next Monday, June 17. There is already an order of the NA president in this regard. Zhoghovurd daily learned that yesterday, after the meeting of the NA Council, the CC discussed this matter also during the session of the faction. [CC faction leader] Hayk Konjoryan stated that there is no matter of the resignation of the government on their agenda; therefore, they will not go [to the NA Sessions’ Hall] and secure a quorum on that day; that is, the session will fail. Moreover, there were no disagreements in the CC regarding this matter, everyone was of the unanimous opinion that the session launched by the [NA] opposition on the matter of the resignation of the government shall not take place, [no matter] how many people want to gather in the street.
