News - Red Cross representative: Medicines, flour have been delivered to Karabakh

This information was officially confirmed by Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Armenia office, in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am on Monday. "The announcement has already been posted on the ICRC website that today there was an operation to deliver humanitarian aid to Artsakh by two trucks, which was coordinated with the decision-makers. one [of these trucks] entered [Artsakh] from the side of Lachin corridor, the other—via the Akna [(Aghdam)] road. Medicines and flour were delivered to Artsakh to help the local population. The food and medicine were bought by the ICRC and delivered today after a long time when such operations did not seem possible due to the lack of humanitarian consensus. After long negotiations, it was managed to reach a decision," said Amatuni. "We hope that such operations will be repeated in the future, as it is necessary in this situation. The ICRC is ready to provide all kinds of assistance in the future, subject to the agreement of the people who make the decisions. But the humanitarian organization's assistance cannot solve the problems of the [Artsakh] population in connection with the full list of goods and services that are needed every day. Humanitarian aid is necessary, but it cannot be the final solution to the situation," the ICRC representative added.
