US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Thursday with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Prague, Czechia on the sidelines of an informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, the US Department of State has informed in a readout attributable to Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller. “Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Fidan discussed efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza that secures the release of hostages, as well as the importance of increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza and preventing regional instability. They also discussed opportunities to support peace and prosperity in the Caucasus region,” adds the readout. Also, Blinken made a post about this meeting, on X—formerly Twitter. “Met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan today in Prague to discuss the importance of increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza and ways to support peace and prosperity in the Caucasus,” the US Secretary of State noted Thursday.
