Armenia's economic activity index increased by 13.2 percent in January-April 2024 compared to the same period last year. We learn about this from the data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia. Accordingly, the amount of industrial output in the country went up by 26.8 percent in January-April of this year compared to the same period last year. The amount of construction in the first four months of 2024 increased by 13.7 percent. The increase in trade this January-April compared to January-April 2023 was 26.7 percent. In the same period, the amount of rendered services increased by 3.9 percent. In the first four months of this year, the consumer price index in Armenia decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the same period last year, and the industrial product price index went up by 0.7 percent. A 0.4 percent increase was recorded in the amount of electricity production. A considerable increase was recorded in the amount of foreign trade in January-April of this year, compared to the same period last year; this increase is 2.4 times. Also, exports went up by 2.8 times, and imports—by 2.1 times. And the exchange rate of the Armenian dram was 400.16 drams against one US dollar in January-April.
