Azerbaijan has denied the appeal by the former state minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, about his illegal arrest. The appeal against the court's decision regarding the extension of the detention measure for Vardanyan was considered, APA reports. The decision was read in the Baku Court of Appeal. According to the decision, Vardanyan's appeal has not been granted. Earlier, it was announced that his detention would be extended for five months. Ruben Vardanyan, along with several other former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, was illegally arrested by Azerbaijan after the latter’s occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh.
