Both bridges leading to Chochkan village in Lori province have collapsed due to flooding and the village is cut off from the outside world, Ara Siradeghyan, head of Chochkan community, told NEWS.am. "Chochkan is located on a high area, it was not affected by floods, the only problem are the roads. There are no urgent needs at this time … the problems are being solved," he said. Further he noted that although there are currently no clear plans on how to organize communication with the outside world, but they will consider all the possibilities, including using a helicopter, if need be. Heavy rains on May 26 caused floods in Armenia’s north, killing two people and leaving another two missing. The floods have also destroyed roads and bridges, cutting off several villages and towns.
