Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for the Homeland movement and Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, visited the Iranian embassy in Armenia and made a note in the book of condolences opened in connection with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and several other officials’ tragic death in a helicopter crash on May 19. "Our hearts and prayers are with the people of Iran, their spiritual leader, with a sense of kinship," Archbishop Galstanyan said in front of the Iranian embassy. Also, he noted that Iran is a friendly country of Armenia, and it has helped the Armenian people in times of need. According to him, the threats that can harm or affect Armenian-Iranian relations should be neutralized. "These relations need to be deepened and developed," stated Galstanyan, stressing that there is a need to appreciate the position adopted by Iran since 2020 that the borders in the region should not be changed.
