News - Archbishop Galstanyan is greeted with Armenian folk dance at Yerevan State University courtyard

The young people welcomed Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for the Homeland movement and Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, at the courtyard of Yerevan State University (YSU) with Armenian folk dance. After his visit to YSU, Archbishop Galstanyan will go to the Union of Journalists, and then to Garegin Nzhdeh Square. Large-scale civil disobedience actions are continuing since early Tuesday morning, and several streets were closed off. The special police forces detained, using brute force, many of the marchers. On May 4, the Tavush for the Homeland movement, led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, had started a march from Kirants border village of Tavush Province to Yerevan, and this march reached the Armenian capital on May 9. Those who have joined this movement are against the incumbent Armenian authorities’ policy of unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan.
