Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, received Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Armenia, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. In his remarks, the minister emphasized the important and effective cooperation between Armenia and the EU—and aimed at ensuring long-term peace in Armenia’s region. Also, Hayrapetyan presented the principles of the Crossroads of Peace project developed by the Armenian government. In that context, he stressed the need to create appropriate conditions for the construction of the Trans-Black Sea fiber optic channel. The parties discussed as well the matters that are on the agenda of the Armenia-EU multilateral cooperation. In particular, reference was made to the implementation of the provisions stipulated under the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation in digitization, cybersecurity, as well as semiconductor design—and with the aim of making Armenia one of the leading countries in microelectronics.
