The members of the Armenia-USA Friendship Group of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia met with Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the US National Security Council, the NA informs. Carpenter reaffirmed the support of the United States to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia, and welcomed the border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Alma-Ata Declaration. The Armenian MPs highlighted the Armenia-US-EU high level meeting held in Brussels on April 5, welcoming the active engagement of the US and the European Union in strengthening resistance and economic diversification of Armenia. The Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project, which can become an important component of regional as well as wider economic cooperation, also was discussed, promoting the regional peace and prosperity. Michael Carpenter welcomed the steps aimed at strengthening democracy in Armenia, recording that the United States stands with Armenia in its democratic development and strengthening sovereignty.
