Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan received a delegation led by Nanna Skau, UN World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Armenia. The deputy minister spoke about the many years of effective cooperation between the Armenian government and the UN WFP, Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Terteryan spoke also about school building projects, reservoir construction, irrigation system, various community issues in Armenia, as well as the problems of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia. The WFP Armenia representative, for her part, talked about the implemented projects and existing problems, and noted that in case of continuing their activities in Armenia, there is an opportunity to cooperate on some other projects as well. And speaking about the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, Skau noted that they have carried out an analysis of obstacles to their social integration and an assessment of their food security. And summarizing that analysis and assessment, they concluded that there should be a shift from status-based to vulnerability-based assistance to these persons. Several other matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the talk.
