News - Polish military attacked on the border with Belarus

Polish servicemen were attacked twice on the border with Belarus, reports the Polish Border Guard.It is noted that on 1 May, during one of the attacks, a border guard officer was hit in the face with a stone and required medical intervention. During another incident, one of the soldiers was hit in the face with a stone. On that day, 113 attempts to enter Poland illegally were recorded.On Tuesday, there were 147 illegal migration events, and on Monday, there were 209.Other helpers in illegal border crossings also fell into the hands of Polish services. Three illegal migrants were transported from Armenia by a Ukrainian citizen and another 6 by a Polish citizen.Several times in the last three days, the Polish Border Guard Service provided assistance to foreigners in need of medical care. A total of 10 foreigners were taken to hospital. Among the people assisted is a pregnant woman, probably from Iran, the agency said in a statement.In April 2024, more than 5,300 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border were recorded in the area guarded by the Podlaskie branch of the Border Guard Service.
