More than 40 people have been detained in Turkey on suspicion of having ties with the Islamic State (IS), Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya informed. "41 people were arrested as part of operations against the IS terrorist group, which were carried out in 12 provinces of the country," the interior minister wrote on X—formerly Twitter. The largest number of these arrests—ten—were made in Istanbul. Also, a firearm was confiscated. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 3,000 people, who are suspected of having ties with IS, were arrested in Turkey in one year.
