The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine welcomes the agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the intestate border delimitation based upon the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991. The Ministry noted this in a statement it released Tuesday. The statement continues as follows: “Border delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia based upon respect for state sovereignty, recognition of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, peaceful settlement of disputes, non-use of force or threat of force is a necessary condition for normalising relations between the countries and guaranteeing stability and security in the region. In conditions of Russia's aggressive policy and constant Russian threats to the Baltic countries, the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus and Central Asia reaching an agreement on the delimitation of the interstate border between Azerbaijan and Armenia is an additional and important factor of stability. We hope for successful practical implementation of the agreements reached by the parties. Ukraine is interested in peace and stability in the South Caucasus.”
