Facts are very stubborn things. Until now, we consider Armenia to be an ally; we are legally allies, said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "I think not only legally. I think there are those out there who understand the importance of Russia to both Armenia's security and economic development, including the head of the Armenian government, who recently spoke in parliament and said that [his country’s] ‘relations with the Russian Federation are experiencing difficult times, but their importance cannot be overestimated for our statehood, sovereignty, security, and economic development,’" Lavrov added. "We appreciate the great positive things that have been and are in our [bilateral] relations. It seems to me that these are very important words, as, to some extent, this is a reaction to the arrogant and shameless actions of the US and the EU to separate Armenia from Russia at an accelerated pace," said the Russian FM.
