News - Armenia premier: Now tension is more related to Kirants, Berkaber villages of Tavush Province

From next week, community representatives will be involved in the working group that will engage in the border delimitation work. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at his meeting with the residents of Kirants village of Tavush Province on Wednesday. "The heads of the administrative regions are involved in the border delimitation and demarcation commissions, with their arguments and, also, they will give the people information about what is happening. Now the tension is more related to the communities of Kirants and Berkaber that we ensure security. We are building a school there, and we must fully ensure the safety of our children," Pashinyan said. According to him, no matter how difficult the process is, he is in a positive mood because the border with Azerbaijan is being drawn across the entire territory of Armenia. "The border is a certain guarantee of peace. All of us should always remember that something may not go as planned, and if everything goes as we have planned, we should be in dialogue with each other," said the Armenian premier. Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday went to the border communities of Tavush for the second time this year. The previous meeting with the local residents did not go smoothly. The topic of the meeting was handing over four villages of Tavush Province to Azerbaijan, to which the locals expressed their opposition. Pashinyan told the villagers that those four villages must be handed over to Azerbaijan, otherwise a war will start. But the residents of the border communities of Tavush were not so dissatisfied with Wednesday's meeting.
