The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan to Saudi Arabia began Wednesday, which is the first high-level visit between the two countries after the establishment of their diplomatic relations in November 2023. At the beginning of his visit in Riyadh, FM Mirzoyan met with the Minister of Education of Saudi Arabia, Yousef Bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high-level political dialogue being formed between the two countries, and noted that this visit by the Armenian FM will be a new stimulus in the development of cooperation between Armenia and Saudi Arabia in various key domains. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed cooperation in education, expressing willingness on both sides to take steps to expand ties in science and culture, too. An agreement was reached to intensify contacts between Armenia and Saudi Arabia to exchange experience at various levels of education, implementation of professional training, as well as mutually beneficial realization of great potential of scholarships and human resources. Also, Ararat Mirzoyan and Yousef Bin Abdullah Al-Benyan emphasized the maximum use of existing opportunities in medicine and technical sciences and the launching of new programs. Concluding their discussion, the two ministers stressed the great willingness to promote interstate ties in line with the historically formed friendship and mutual sympathy between the Armenian and Arab peoples.
