Armenia extends, for another 7 years, agreement with US to counter proliferation of weapons of mass destruction

by Lilit April 12, 2024

In its Cabinet session Friday, the Armenian government approved the extension of its agreement with the US government on cooperation in countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. On May 15, 2009, the term of this agreement was extended for seven years, whose term had expired on November 25, 2016. The agreement had entered into force on November 25, 2016, and concluded with the exchange of notifications to extend its term for seven years, expired on November 25, 2023. A consent to extend this agreement for another seven years will help prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Under this agreement, Armenia and the US agree to cooperate in countering the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
