News - Armenia legislature starts closed session on border delimitation with Azerbaijan

The urgent session on the matter of border delimitation and demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan kicked off in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also are attending this session. The session is being held behind closed doors; this proposal was of the ruling majority faction. The NA opposition, however, was against it. NA speaker Alen Simonyan announced that those MPs who do not have the right to participate in the session under the secrecy regime need to leave the sessions’ hall, and all other MPs need to attend this session without smartphones. As a result, the participating legislators' smartphones were collected, and some lawmakers were not permitted to participate in the session. The parliamentary opposition factions had proposed this urgent session.
