Washington and Brussels reaffirm their support for the democratic and prosperous future of the Armenian people. This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, ahead of his tripartite meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in Brussels. The Armenian PM's leadership and partnership means a lot, and it creates a very strong foundation for what they can do together in the future, said Blinken. They are in Brussels to reaffirm transatlantic support for a democratic and prosperous future for the Armenian people, and for a more integrated and peaceful South Caucasus region, the US Secretary of State noted. They share the vision of the future of the Armenian people, they want Armenia to establish its position as a strong and independent state at peace with its neighbors, in relation to the region and the world, Blinken stated. The US and the EU want to be Armenia’s partners in that effort, today's meeting is proof of that, and they should use this moment of choice by the Armenian people and leaders, Blinken noted.
