The UN Security Council will hold an open session at Russia's request regarding the Israeli attack on Iran's diplomatic facility in Syria. This was announced by Dmitry Polyanskiy, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations. "After Israel's airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus today, Iranians have turned to the UN Security Council to condemn this action. Following their letter we have requested an open briefing of the UN Security Council. The Maltese presidency has scheduled it for 3:00 PM New York time (10:00 PM Moscow time) on April 2nd.," Polyanskiy wrote on X—former Twitter.
