Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov has said that Armenia has not recently participated in the work of the secretariat of this organization, but has not sent notifications about leaving the organization either. At the same time, the CSTO chief did not rule out that new countries may join the organization, reports Kommersant. "Yerevan, indeed, has not participated in the work of the CSTO Secretariat recently... In relation to the mentioned statements of the officials of the Republic of Armenia, I should note that the [CSTO] Secretariat has not received an official statement from Yerevan about suspending CSTO membership," said the CSTO Secretary General in an interview with the National Defense magazine. . Tasmagambetov added that the CSTO Secretariat regularly informs the relevant agencies of Armenia about the decisions taken and adopted. In February, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the de facto freezing of Armenia's participation in the CSTO.
