News - Mirzoyan tells Amir-Abdollahian importance of efforts aimed at preventing escalation of situation on Armenia border

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Armenian foreign ministry reports. As a continuation of the phone talk between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Iran held a few days ago, the FMs of the two countries discussed matters related to stability and security in the South Caucasus. Reflecting on the latest developments in the region, FM Mirzoyan noted the importance of the efforts and statements of partners aimed at curbing the escalation of the situation on the border with Armenia, and returning Azerbaijan to a constructive arena. In the context of achieving long-term stability in the region, the need to address the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh was also emphasized. During the telephone conversation, the parties discussed bilateral relations, too. Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to continue the dialogue on various platforms and formats.
