News - Russia MFA spox: Armenia is being turned into tool for implementing dangerous plans of the West

Right before the eyes of the whole world, Armenia is being turned into a tool for the implementation of extremely dangerous plans of the collective West. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), wrote this on Telegram—and commenting on the Armenia-EU-US high-level meeting scheduled to be held in Brussels on April 5. However, according to Zakharova, such measures cause concern in Russia because the representatives of the US and the EU say in a direct, open text that their main focus is exclusively against Russia. In her opinion, such meetings cause concern in most of the countries of the region because they are not aimed at achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, but at the further entry of the West in the South Caucasus, with its extremely destructive approaches, at the creation of new dividing lines there, at forcing the countries of the region to follow the anti-Russian agenda, at the destruction of their age-old ties with Moscow, and at the collapse of the existing mechanisms of regional security and economic cooperation. "Why Yerevan pretends not to grasp what it is about is a big question, as right before the eyes of the whole world, Armenia is being turned into a tool for the implementation of extremely dangerous plans of the collective West, which are completely different from the fundamental interests of the Armenian people," added the official representative of the Russian MFA. The Armenian MFA had reported that the purpose of the aforementioned meeting is to deepen Armenia's cooperation with the European Union and the United States.
