Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, had a number of meetings with parliamentarians of various countries on the margins of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva, Switzerland. During these meetings, the NA speaker presented the situation in the South Caucasus to his colleagues, highlighting the importance of establishing peace in the region and reaffirming Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The events taking place in Gaza were discussed at Simonyan’s meeting with the deputy chairman of the Palestinian National Council, Musa Hadid. The speaker of the Armenian parliament briefly presented Armenia's position on the settlement of the Palestinian issue. "On various international platforms, we have always supported the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the principle of two states," said Simonyan.
