Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows: The main demographic indicators of the RA Statistical Committee for the month of January 2024 have been summed up in an urgent manner, and the preliminary data on the natural movement of the population and border registrations obtained by the BOMI [i.e. border online management information] system are presented below. In January 2024, the vitality ratio—the ratio of births to deaths—made up 120.9%, compared to 139.5% recorded in the same period of the previous year [in Armenia]. That is, it turns out that the birth rate [in the country] was more active in the same period last year than in the same period this year. 3,481 people were born in this period last year, 3,108—in January this year, 373 less people than last year. However, let's note that during the January months of the last 4 years, the highest birth rate was in January 2023—3,481 people, and in 2022—2,868 people, in 2021—2,853 people. In January 2024, 3,108 people were born and 2,571 people died [in Armenia].
