An unprecedented number of high-ranking French officials visited Armenia in 2023. This was stated Friday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, during the discussions of the report on the progress and results of the 2023 implementation of the 2021-2026 program of the Armenian government at the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly. According to him, relations between Armenia and France have a special character. "Our [bilateral] contacts have exceeded the traditional indicators of the [bilateral] political dialogue," Mirzoyan added, in particular. "France made an important decision in the context of geopolitical vulnerability of [Armenia’s] Syunik Province. In August, France announced the opening of a consulate in Goris [city]. The French defense mission is engaged in Armenia. In this case, it’s about the institution of military attaché," Armenian FM said.
