Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday received the US Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations, Luis Bono. The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus. They reflected on the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the discussions on the peace treaty. FM Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in this regard to his interlocutor, and emphasized Armenia's positions on key issues. In particular, the importance of adherence to the mutual recognition of territorial integrity based on the Alma Ata declaration of 1991 and the further process of border delimitation based on this declaration and maps with strong legal foundations was stressed. In the context of unblocking regional communication, FM Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia's consistent approach to implementing the process on the basis of the well-known principles: sovereignty, jurisdiction, reciprocity, and equality. Ararat Mirzoyan and Luis Bono exchanged views also on the agenda of the Armenia-US bilateral political dialogue, upcoming events, and further development of partnership.
