Damien Boschetto, a resident of France, went out for a walk with his dog and found an almost intact skeleton of a 70-million-year-old titanosaurus. Boschetto found the huge fossil pieces in May 2022 while walking with his dog in the forests of Montouliers, near his home in Cruzy, a village in southern France, writes France Bleu. Boschetto said that he discovered the dinosaur skeleton as a landslide on the edge of the cliff exposed the bones of various skeletons. The "archaeologist" had waited until now to announce his major find so that the site where experts excavated the skeleton would be protected from looters and the curious, he told ABC News. Boschetto, 25, along with members of the Archaeological and Paleontological Cultural Association at the Cruzy Museum, worked for two years to excavate the skeleton. The type of herbivorous dinosaur Boschetto discovered, the titanosaurus, are known for their very long necks. They lived during the Cretaceous period, which was 145-66 million years ago. The fossil is now on display at the Cruzy Museum.
