News - Newspaper: Majority faction MPs to discuss Armenia’s EU membership candidacy matter with Security Council chief

Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes: NA [(National Assembly)] [ruling majority] Civil Contract [(CC)] Faction MPs today called Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan to the NA for a closed meeting. Let's note that the ruling wing has already taken an undisguised pro-European foreign policy direction. Moreover, the authorities announce, at the NA president's level, that Armenia is ready to become a candidate for European Union [(EU)] membership; it remains for the EU to accept us. And today, the CC MPs will discuss matters about this with Armen Grigoryan. It's no secret that Armen Grigoryan is one of the most pro-Western figures of this power, who has always expressed himself sharply regarding Armenian-Russian relations. According to our information, the CC members are going to call Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also to the NA in the near future.
