The ongoing magnetic storm on Earth was caused by three powerful flares on the Sun, which can be compared to the strongest flares recorded in December 2019, the Phobos enter informed on its website. The flares, which are among the five most powerful since the beginning of solar cycle 25 and were caused by a group of 3,590 sunspots that crossed the Earth-Sun line and are moving towards the eastern edge of the solar disk, appear to cannot affect the Earth's magnetosphere.
