News - Head of EU delegation to Armenia: We all need to make efforts to make sure such tragedies never happen again

I express my deep condolences to all those who lost relatives and friends 36 years ago in Sumgait. Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Armenia, stated this in a message on X—former Twitter—on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Armenian massacres in Sumgait, Azerbaijan.  “We all need to continue with strongest efforts to achieve reconciliation and a sustainable, lasting peace in order to make sure that such tragedies never happen again,” the EU diplomat added.
