News - Zakharova: Russia, Azerbaijan discussing prospects of Armenian population’s return to Karabakh

Preparations for the next Russian-Azerbaijani contacts continue regarding the activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. Our dialogue in this domain is regular and constructive. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this in a press briefing Wednesday, commenting—at the request of reporters—on the views of the Russian side regarding the future of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Among the matters discussed are the prospects of the return of the Armenian population to Karabakh, with proper protection of their rights and safety, the organizing of joint patrolling, the protection of monuments of cultural, historical, and religious heritage," added the official representative of the Russian MFA.
