The US ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien, extended her condolences regarding the casualties caused by the shots fired by Azerbaijanis towards the Armenian combat position located in the area of Nerkin Hand village of Syunik Province. "We express our deep condolences to the families of those killed on the border in Syunik province, and wish a speedy recovery to those wounded," said the condolence message, which was posted, in Armenian and English, on the X—former Twitter—account of the US Embassy in Armenia. Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that starting at 5:30am on Tuesday, the units of the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire—from small arms—in the direction of the Armenian positions located in the Nerkin Hand village sector in Syunik Province. As a result, the Armenian side has four casualties and one wounded. Shooting stopped as of 9:30am.
