The Czech Republic aims to have two prosperous, peaceful countries. The visiting President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Marketa Pekarova Adamova, stated this during a joint news press conference with the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, in Yerevan Wednesday—and regarding Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Czech Republic fully supports the sovereignty of countries, but at the same time, the best framework would be to support both countries at the international level, within the framework of international cooperation, which means within the framework of the United Nations or other agencies created for this purpose. Adamova said she is sure that it is very important to emphasize the Czech Republic’s cooperation within the framework of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia, which she will visit Thursday, and that they support this joint effort. The speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies emphasized that their values are based on the principles of human rights, and therefore they always try to stress that it is important to respect human rights. This means that they will continue to assist the refugees who have been forced to leave their homes. Adamova note that after this visit, she will go to Azerbaijan and express their support to the Armenian people because it is no coincidence that she is in Armenia first, and then she will travel to Azerbaijan. And to Armenian News-NEWS.am's question as to whether major sanctions should be imposed on Azerbaijan and whether she can promise Armenia certain practical security guarantees, Adamova responded that the Czech Republic is a member of the EU and is a member of several other agencies that support, she is sure that this should always be a joint effort because in this case they need to cooperate at these levels. This is very important for them to follow the joint position of the EU member states, or for example the member countries of the Council of Europe, she added. It is very important to emphasize that they are not only using the sanction as a tool of one country, but also within the framework of these establishments and institutions, noted the speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies.
