The last Bugatti with a W16 engine has hit the assembly line. The 2022 Bugatti W16 Mistral spider debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance; a hypercar that doesn't even have a roof as an option, reports Motor.ru. The pre-production prototype which has now reached the assembly line was shown at the presentation, and the first assembled cars have already been delivered to customers. Only 99 examples of the Mistral will be produced, and of course, they were all sold out even before the Pebble Beach premiere. The W16 index appeared in the model name for one reason: it will be the last Bugatti with such an engine. The Bugatti W16 Mistral is based on the Chiron, but is quite considerably different from it both in terms of appearance and design. The Mistral has an original body design and a carbon fiber monocoque, whose roof has not only been "cut," but even the proportions have been barely perceptibly changed for a more harmonious look. The design makes extensive use of composite materials combined with 3D printing of titanium and aluminum to compensate for the complete lack of a roof. The doors were completely designed from scratch to better protect the people inside from possible side effects. The leather interior has been further developed to improve wear resistance, and the audio system settings have been modified to account for the lack of a roof.
