News - Deputy minister: Preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Karabakh is on Armenia MFA agenda

The matter of preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh is on the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan told reporters Monday. "This matter is raised both in the executive body and in other relevant departments of UNESCO. If you remember, in December 2020, the UNESCO Executive Board had made a decision that a fact-finding mission should be sent to Nagorno-Karabakh to observe the situation on the spot as to what the [current] condition is of the [Armenian] monuments of cultural heritage," added Kostanyan. The Armenian deputy FM noted that they are continuously working to make this visit of that UNESCO mission happen.
