News - Tombs of Alexander the Great's father, brothers, son found in Greece

After years of research, scholars were able to discover three tombs that belonged to the family of Alexander the Great. The tombs are located in the Great Tumulus of Vergina in northern Greece. According to new data, the remains of Alexander's father, stepmother, stepbrothers and son lie there, reports the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports. The second tomb contained the remains of a man and a woman who often rode horses during their lives. As per scholars, they belonged to Alexander's half-brother, King Arrhidaeus, and his wife, the “warrior woman” Adea Eurydice. According to the scholars, Alexander the Great’s son, Alexander IV, who had died as a teenager, is buried in Tomb III.
