Armenia to have military attachés to Czech Republic, Kyrgyzstan

by Lilit Jan. 25, 2024

Armenia will have military attachés to the Czech Republic and Kyrgyzstan. The Armenian government made such a decision at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting. According to the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Armenia, the need to have a military attaché of Armenia to the Czech Republic is due to the great potential of military and technico-military cooperation between the two countries, and the great interest shown in the recent period by the Czech side in deepening the cooperation. The post of military attaché of Armenia to the Czech Republic will be combined with the post of military attaché of the Armenian embassy in Germany. It is also noted that Armenia, a country participating in the NATO Partnership for Peace program, also values the active role of the Czech Republic as an important bridge in the context of strengthening the Armenia-NATO dialogue, as well as developing relations with NATO member states, as well as closer and more effective cooperation in the defense sector. As for Kyrgyzstan, according to the MoD of Armenia, the presence of the Armenian military attaché to Kyrgyzstan will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector, and will give new impetus to the implementation of joint measures in the defense sector between the two countries. Also, this military attaché will ensure a high level of Armenian-Kyrgyz relations in the defense sector. The position of the military attaché of Armenia to Kyrgyzstan will be combined with the post of military attaché of the embassy of Armenia in Kazakhstan.
