Yerevan population natural growth at 7.9% in 2023

The natural growth of the population of Yerevan was 7.9 percent in 2023. Davit Karapetyan, Head of Healthcare Department of Yerevan Municipality, announced this during Monday’s meeting of the city hall. "On the whole, 15,606 children—8,069 boys, 7,837 girls—were born in Yerevan during 2023. The natural growth of the [city’s] population was 7.9 percent," said Karapetyan. After September 19, 2023, a total of 187 babies—93 boys and 94 girls—were born in Armenian families who were forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and had moved to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. And 48—22 boys and 26 girls—of these babies were born in December.
