About 40% of Armenia police officers do not pass ‘IQ test’

by Lilit Jan. 5, 2024

About 40 percent of Armenia’s police officers failed the general section phase of testing, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported in response to Sputnik Armenia's request. As of the end of December 2023, a total of 1,123 police officers participated in the certification, of which 190 passed all phases, and certification of three police officers was in progress. Certification includes these four phases: 1) Online testing of general knowledge—the police themselves call it an "IQ test." 2) A two-phase test (physical, and fire training). 3) (Online) verification of professional abilities. 4) Interview with the main and senior groups of police posts. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, 454 participants could not pass the general knowledge test, 192—the physical test, 279—the fire training, and 8 police officers—the professional ability test. The aforesaid "IQ test" consists of two subsections: overall development, and professional skills.
