In 2023, Armenia gave more to the total customs budget of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) than it received. This was stated by the chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Rustam Badasyan, in a briefing with reporters after the government cabinet session. "We [i.e. Armenia] have again sent much more customs duties to the shared [EAEU] pot than we have received from the shared pot. We have received an amount close to 73 billion drams, we have sent an amount close to 140 billion drams," said Badasyan. When asked whether it is beneficial to send a lot of money but receive less, the SRC chairman emphasized that until 2022, Armenia received more than it sent to the EAEU total customs budget.
