India dismisses media reports about supplying artillery shells to Ukraine

by Lilit Jan. 4, 2024

India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that New Delhi did not export artillery shells to Ukraine. “We have also seen some media reports in this regard. But we can categorically say that we have not sent any of these artillery ammunitions to Ukraine. We have not exported them and we have not sent them," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said  The Indian periodical EurAsian Times writes that India has refused to take sides in the Ukrainian-Russian war, but videos have appeared in Ukraine about the use of Indian-made artillery ammunition by the Ukrainian armed forces. Information circulating on Russian and Ukrainian social media suggests that Ukraine may have received Indian-made 155mm artillery shells.
