Our position has not changed: we are against border and geopolitical changes in the region; the change of borders is a “red line” for us. This was announced at the level of the highest authorities of Iran, and no one can go back from it. Iran's ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, stated this in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia. The diplomat emphasized that there is no point in creating an extraterritorial corridor in the territory of another country, and that the communication channels of each country are in the hands of the country exercising its sovereignty in that territory. "I believe [that] addressing the issue of the extraterritorial corridor in the territory of Armenia has nothing to do with international law, the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries. As stated in the Crossroads of Peace program of the prime minister of Armenia, any territorial connection in the territory of Armenia must operate under the national sovereignty of that country. Are the countries that are talking about an extraterritorial corridor in the territory of Armenia ready to create such extraterritorial corridors in their territory? I believe the answer is negative. Therefore, what they don't want for themselves, they shouldn't want for others either," stated the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
