News - Armenia party leader Tigran Arzakantsyan released from detention

Tigran Arzakantsyan, Chairman of the Strength of the Homeland party, has been released from detention. The Investigative Committee of Armenia informed the media about this. "Criminal proceedings have been launched under the features of Article 335 [of the Armenian Criminal Code]. The circumstance of the bullets being illegal or legal is being clarified," added the Investigative Committee. Also, they informed that no criminal prosecution has been launched, and an investigation is being conducted into this incident. Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that the aviation security officers at Zvartnots International Airport of Yerevan on Friday detained Gavar city resident and chairman of the Strength of the Homeland party of Armenia, Tigran Arzakantsyan, 57, at the airport.   Arzakantsyan was a passenger of the Yerevan-Dubai flight, and 16 bullets of an unknown type of firearm were found in his carry-on bag. Later, Tigran Arzakantsyan was arrested.
